Jansson labelled Eriksen a superstar as Dane is linked with Leeds move

Based on rumours, Leeds United’s transfer window is about to get very exciting, with Christian Eriksen one of the latest names linked with an Elland Road move.

Of course, at the start of this week, Whites fans were mostly concerned about the futures of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.

Obviously, those situations are still a worry and Leeds supporters would rather the pair stayed. But it does appear that they have some very talented players on their radar if their transfer kitty receives a big lift.

And reports claimed one of those Leeds now want is Eriksen. The Dane is a free agent after his short-term deal with Brentford. And he now appears to have half of the Premier League chasing his signature.

Leeds supporters probably feel that there is little chance of Eriksen ending up at Elland Road. He has been ‘incredible‘ since his return to the Premier League. And he has his pick of the teams.

He will surely feel a sense of loyalty to Brentford after the opportunity they gave him. And moving to Leeds would upset many given that Jesse Marsch’s men did only just get themselves across the line in the battle to stay up last season.

His spell with Brentford has given Eriksen the chance to play alongside Pontus Jansson. Jansson remains a fan favourite amongst Leeds supporters after his own spell in West Yorkshire.

And thus, Whites fans may be delighted to hear what Jansson said about Eriksen earlier this year.

“We are so happy that he can play football first of all, but he’s also such a nice guy and character,” he said, as reported by the Evening Standard.

“You could say he’s a superstar, but he is also one of us and we’re so happy to have him here.”

Leeds linked with Eriksen

It would certainly be an outrageous statement if Leeds signed Eriksen this summer. Staying at Brentford would surely be his preference if he stayed with a mid-table side. Meanwhile, he has plenty of options further up the table.

So it is hard to see how Leeds really stand out in some ways. But the Whites should absolutely ask the question in case another Denmark international is prepared to join this summer.
