It would take a huge change in circumstances for Vincent Janssen to play for Tottenham again, according to Football.London.
Their Spurs correspondent Alastair Gold wrote off the 24-year-old’s chances of making a return to the first-team fold yesterday (16:20) despite him being handed a reprieve during the January transfer window.
In response to being asked whether Janssen would ever play for Spurs again, Gold said: “I’d be stunned if he does. For me he’s fifth choice striker at the club behind Kane, Llorente, Son and Moura.
“Unless the Dutchman suddenly turns into the next Messi in training or there is an injury crisis of epic proportions, a minute or two at the end of a match if there’s a pile-up of fixtures because Spurs advanced to the latter stages of the Champions League is probably the best he can hope for.”

Spurs’ injury crisis was at its deepest when Janssen was handed a potential second chance when he returned to first-team training last month and he still wasn’t handed a game.
So it wouldn’t be surprising if he couldn’t get any match time now that Harry Kane is back from injury and Heung-min Son has returned from international duty.
It does beg the question why Pochettino brought him back into the fold – because having him around but not putting him the shop window isn’t going to drum up much in the way of interest from selling clubs.
