Harry Kane once again got his name on the Tottenham score sheet despite Cristian Ronaldo outdoing him at Old Trafford last night.

Kane slotted in from the penalty spot once again to keep his brilliant record from the spot going and at the time, put Spurs on level terms in the game. Per Transfermarkt, Kane has scored 49 penalties in his career, missing just the eight, with the last of those in the Premier League coming back in 2018.

Of course, there are some fine spot-kick takers in the world. Mo Salah is ever-reliable for Liverpool, Jorginho normally excellent for Italy and Chelsea, while Ivan Toney has yet to miss for Brentford. But according to former Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen, it is Kane who is top of the pops.

Vertonghen, who enjoyed a fine relationship with Kane while at Tottenham, took to Twitter to post his six-word reaction after Kane fired in past David de Gea last night.

TBR’s View: Kane One Of The Best

The good thing Harry Kane does from 12 yards is he hits the ball hard and he always seems to have made his mind up early on. That helps him with a good connection and ultimately, even when the keeper dives the right way like De Gea did, the ball is normally past them.

Kane is now in fine form for Spurs and he’ll be crucial to any top four hopes they’re clinging onto. At least in the pressure moments, Antonio Conte knows he has a man who will not buckle.
