Leeds United winger Raphinha is certainly one of the more exciting Premier League players at the moment and his teammate, Jamie Shackleton, admits he does things that leave him in awe in training.
Raphinha has been outstanding for Leeds since signing in a £17m deal from Rennes in October of 2020. After taking a small amount of time to settle, Raphinha has quickly become one of the league’s brightest talents.
His performances have been rewarded with a call to the Brazilian national team. And to his credit, he’s delivered for the Selecao this week as well.

But his performance levels are no surprise to his Leeds teammate and emerging talent at Elland Road, Jamie Shackleton. Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, the versatile Leeds star said Raphinha can do stunning things in training.
“It’s nice to have a player of his quality who can find passes and find runs in front. He’s someone who also works hard for the team defensively. It makes my job easier and he’s good to play with,” Shackleton said.
“I think the more time you spend with him the more you can get used to his game. Even so, there are some passes and tricks that are still a shock and surprising to me. He’s a talented player and more than capable.”
Raphinha’s performances have drawn interest from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United recently.
TBR’s View: Raphinha won’t be at Leeds for long
And that is no disrespect to the Whites, it’s just that he is simply that good at the moment. His calls to the Brazil side only increase his global appeal, and he will get a big move one day.
The good news for Leeds is is he is their player for now. And the even better news is that when they do sell him, he’ll command a lot more than that £17m they paid initially.
