Jamie Redknapp has criticised Moises Caicedo after the Chelsea midfielder’s tackle left Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch coming off via a stretcher.
The 22-year-old Ecuador international went in strong on the Anfield youngster as Caicedo went in studs up on Gravenberch’s ankle, forcing the midfielder off and adding to Liverpool’s injury worries.
With the Chelsea youngster escaping without even a yellow card, it was a decision that left many fans and pundits scratching their heads, with Jurgen Klopp fuming on the touchline.

And speaking on Sky Sports coverage of the match, Redknapp agreed with the general consensus on the foul, though the pundit believed Caicedo should have come away with just a yellow card.
The former Liverpool midfielder said when asked about the tackle on Gravenberch: “It was clumsy. Caicedo puts his foot in and it looks disgusting when slowed down.
“He’s not looking at the player, he’s only following the ball. It is only a yellow card, though, but I can see why Jurgen Klopp was so mad with the decision.”
Moises Caicedo should have seen red for tackle on Ryan Gravenberch

It was one of the worst tackles seen at a Wembley cup final in some years, with Caicedo potentially ending Gravenberch’s season and adding to Liverpool’s incredible injury list.
And the tackle should have seen the Chelsea midfielder sent off, with Caicedo lucky English officials are now so bad that the youngster escaped with not even a yellow card.
Indeed, the former Brighton & Hove Albion man knows he got away with one today at Wembley, and Caicedo will be hopeful that Gravenberch’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared.
