Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has talked up Jack Grealish’s England hopes in the March internationals, in the Daily Mail.

Redknapp praised Grealish’s form so far this season and called on Gareth Southgate to finally put him in his squad with months remaining until Euro 2020.

He said: “Everyone will have their own preference for England’s midfield but Jack Grealish has to get his shot. He deserves to be in that squad for the friendlies against Italy and Denmark. He should be mixing with the big boys.

“The Premier League is full of quick players but this guy has that little bit extra in the tank. He can score with his right or left foot and has tremendous balance. The Villa skipper is versatile. Grealish has grown up. It is time we saw him with three lions on his chest.”

TBR’s View – Grealish has surely overtaken Mount in the pecking order at the very least

Given Fabian Delph keeps getting called up, there has to be space for Grealish in the England squad.

But even in the playmaking pecking order, Grealish has surely overtaken Mason Mount of Chelsea at the very least.

Mount was fast-tracked for England because he had been through the age groups but Grealish has gone from strength to strength while the former Derby loanee has tailed off.

Villa fans have been saying it for years now – Grealish is good enough for England – and surely Grealish will get his chance in March.
