Jamie Redknapp singled out Leeds United player Rodrigo for massive praise following his performance in the 1-1 draw against Manchester City.
The Whites earned an impressive point on Saturday by holding Pep Guardiola’s Man City to a draw at Elland Road, with both teams playing their part in an eye-catching game of football.
Raheem Sterling capitalised on a quick start for the visitors with his 17th minute strike that he buried into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
But Marcelo Bielsa’s side grew into the match from that point in and went into half-time with some momentum.
Rodrigo, who entered the action as a substitute in the 56th minute, needed just three minutes on the pitch to score the vital equaliser for the Yorkshire giants.
The Spanish forward reacted fastest in the penalty box to a spill from goalkeeper Ederson and tucked in a simple finish, scoring his first goal for Leeds since his summer transfer from La Liga club Valencia.
Redknapp was majorly impressed by the 29-year-old’s cameo from the bench and felt he lifted his side.
“Rodrigo came on and made such a difference,” Redknapp told Sky Sports’ Main Event channel (7:35pm, 3 October).
“Incredible pace, he was exciting to watch and he gave them a completely different dynamic in the game. I was very impressed with him.”

TBR’s View:
Rodrigo is being made to earn his spot in the Leeds team by manager Bielsa, but his contribution from the bench against Man City showed why they paid a club-record £27million transfer fee (Sky Sports) to bring him to Elland Road.
The left-footed attacker injected some real quality in the final third picking up positions behind striker Patrick Bamford and he will surely force his way into the starting XI in the near future.
He will now link up with national side Spain, but he’s an exciting player that has made a decent start to his Leeds career and he should only keep improving.
