Jamie Redknapp has raved about the quality of Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, amid speculation circling about him possibly exiting Anfield.
The 29-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with the Merseyside giants and he’s being linked with a possible departure.
Spanish publication Sport reports that Liverpool want £15.5million for the Dutchman, who played a vital part in the club’s Premier League title-winning success.
The report explains that talks have currently stalled with Barcelona over a potential transfer to Camp Nou, but he is believe to be keen on a switch to the La Liga giants.
Redknapp has discussed the ability of Wijnaldum due to the reports surrounding his future and has given a glowing verdict on him.
“I love the way Wijnaldum plays. He always has such intensity that you’d hate playing against him, he’s always chasing after the ball and he uses it well,” Redknapp told the Liverpool Echo.

TBR’s View:
Wijnaldum may be entering the final year of his contract, but surely they need to keep him for another season and try negotiate another deal if he can be convinced to stay.
The all-action central midfielder as been at the heart of the team during the rise under manager Jurgen Klopp and he missed just one game of the Premier League season last year.
The Holland international has an incredible engine in the centre of the park where he gets through so much hard defensive work, but is often the one that bursts forward too in the final third and he managed six goals across all competitions last season.
