Following Tottenham Hotspur’s win on Saturday, Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports (broadcast on 21/11; 20:05) that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg deserves praise for the way that he has bounced back from his debut display.
Hojbjerg has taken little time to seemingly establish himself as a crucial player to Jose Mourinho’s side’s fortunes.

However, it is fair to say that the Dane did not get to the best start in North London. He endured a really tough opening day following his summer switch from Southampton.
Hojbjerg has responded amazingly well and now appears to be one of the most popular players in a Tottenham side that is threatening to achieve something special.

Their win over Manchester City moved them top of the Premier League. And Redknapp insisted that the 25-year-old has done incredibly well to turn around his fortunes so quickly.
“I think Hojbjerg deserves a special mention as well in midfield,” he told Sky Sports. “I think he’s done a good job. When Hojbjerg played the first game against Everton, he was so poor. But you can see how he’s grown into that role.”
Hojbjerg has received a number of plaudits for his recent form. And it would be a huge boost if he could continue to impress for the rest of the campaign.
Tottenham’s midfield has arguably not looked better since the club lost Mousa Dembele in 2019. And Hojbjerg has been pivotal to their improvement this season.
That is not a statement you would have been expecting to make after watching the midfielder struggle back in mid-September.
