Tottenham currently sit third in the Premier League table and are just five points adrift of leaders Liverpool, but some are unsure on if they are truly in the title race.
Ex-Spurs midfielder and now pundit Jamie Redknapp believes that his former club deserve to be in the conversation alongside the top two of Liverpool and Manchester City.
But he stressed that a potential push for the top-flight title hinges on the fitness of key pair Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
“If City can win it then why not Tottenham? Their hopes hinge on how quickly Harry Kane and Dele Alli return,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
Star centre-forward Kane has not kicked a ball since January, but the Sun reports he could return against Borussia Dortmund next week a month earlier than his initial March diagnosis.
Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Alli has been sidelined since mid-January and the Daily Mail reports he could be back in full action before March.
Spurs certainly deserve to be in the thinking when it comes to the title and manager Mauricio Pochettino is doing an exceptional job with his injury-hit squad.
They have been an extremely consistent team in recent years and should feel confident of pushing for the title if they are still in touching distance when Kane and Alli return.
Spurs still have to travel to Liverpool and Manchester City this season, which is likely to decide their fate in the league.
