Jamie O’Hara wants Tottenham to appoint Leeds boss Jamie O’Hara

Tottenham-supporting pundit Jamie O’Hara has told TalkSPORT that he would love to see the club raid Leeds United for Marcelo Bielsa.

Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho earlier this week and Daniel Levy will now go in search of a manager to lead the team during 2021/22.

The Portuguese boss was sacked after 17 months in charge of the North London-based side with the club sixth in the Premier League.

Plenty of high-profile names have been linked with the position but O’Hara thinks Tottenham should pursue another top-flight boss.

He told TalkSPORT: “I would say Bielsa. He’d be absolutely brilliant and I think the fans would love it.

“He’s not actually got a new contract at Leeds, he hasn’t signed anything just yet. If you could prise him away from there it’d be an unbelievable move for Spurs.

“Spurs are bigger than Leeds.”

Tottenham have to get their next managerial appointment right and bring in someone to lead the club back towards glory.

Mauricio Pochettino led the club to a Champions League Final but it’s been a pretty drab period for the club otherwise.

Trophies haven’t been forthcoming for many years and that simply won’t do for a club the size of Tottenham.

TBR View: Bielsa would be quality but looks a pipedream

The style of play that the Argentine would bring to the football club would delight any supporters on the planet.

A free-flowing high-press is the polar opposite to what Tottenham were under Mourinho and the fan base would be unanimous in welcoming Bielsa.

He seems happy at Leeds though and sees the job as part of a project at Elland Road.

Although he hasn’t signed a new contract, it seems likely that he will do in the coming weeks, with Leeds enjoying a stunning maiden campaign in the Premier League.

As a result, O’Hara might not get his wish.
