TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has urged Tottenham Hotspur to sign Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton.

Spurs will likely be on the market for a new central defender in the January transfer window. They need additions at the back, and among all the names linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is young Branthwaite.

Jamie O’Hara urges Tottenham to sign Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton

Tottenham need to sign a new central defender in the January transfer window, and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is a very interesting option.

When everybody is fit, Spurs have one of the best defensive partnerships in the country with Cristian Romero on the right and Micky van de Ven on the left.

The Dutchman is currently injured, while the Spurs vice-captain’s recklessness could see him get a needless red card in any game.

With Eric Dier out of favour at Tottenham, Ange Postecoglou needs a new centre-back, and Football Transfers claimed yesterday that Branthwaite is one of Spurs’ top targets in January.

Now, while in conversation with Jason Cundy, Jamie O’Hara has urged Tottenham to sign him.

On talkSPORT, when Cundy said Branthwaite was ‘stellar’ against Chelsea at the weekend, O’Hara replied: “We need to try and sign him. Spurs need to try and get him.”

Branthwaite would be a great signing for Tottenham

Jarrad Branthwaite has always been a player with huge potential, but it has taken him a while to get into this Everton side.

The defender, who has been hailed as a player with ‘perfect physical assets’ by Everton News, has played 14 games in a row in the Premier League so far, and he has been brilliant. He was excellent against Chelsea at the weekend, and there is a big chance he will move to a bigger club in one of the next few transfer windows.

Tottenham need a backup defender, especially one on the left to act as cover for Micky van de Ven. Branthwaite, in our opinion, would be perfect for that role.

However, Spurs will have to break the bank to get him, with Football Transfers revealing he is valued by Everton at around £75 million.
