Jamie O’Hara has told Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast Show on TalkSPORT (Thursday, 07:37) that Jose Mourinho would be the perfect fit for Arsenal as his defensive-minded management would finally shore up the leaky Gunners back line.
Mourinho, 56, is approaching 12 months without being in a job, after the Portuguese gaffer was sacked by Manchester United in December 2018 – following just seven league wins in 17 games. He has been repeatedly linked with a move to The Emirates.
Arsenal have kept just two clean sheets in 11 Premier League games this season, despite bringing in the likes of David Luiz and Kieran Tierney in the summer. They have already conceded eight goals to Liverpool in two fixtures against The Reds.
Former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara reckons Mourinho is the ideal manager to shore up their leaky defence – which has so far seen them concede 15 league goals in 11 games – seven more than third-placed Leicester City, who they play on Saturday.

TBR’s view – Jose would strengthen defence, but is it the Arsenal way?
Manchester United fans became so frustrated with Mourinho’s style of play, which turned an attacking outfit of United renowned for their width – into a narrow, hard-to-beat side that prided themselves on keeping possession.
United were strong defensively, but they offered little creation or invention going forward. Arsenal fans pride themselves on playing footbll the right way, scoring well-worked goals and playing with flair while in possession – not on the counter attack.
Arsenal need Mourinho to shore up the defence, but they must realise that bringing in Mourinho would see their attack suffer.
