Jamie O’Hara thinks Dele Alli should leave Tottenham and join PSG

Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly set to become the new manager of Paris Saint-Germain and Jamie O’Hara has told TalkSPORT (Monday, 8.40am) that it would be a “great move” for the Argentine boss to sign Dele Alli from Tottenham Hotspur.

Dele’s situation at Tottenham has been well-documented. The 24-year-old has managed just 74 minutes of Premier League football all season, spread across four appearances – and remained an unused substitute against Wolves on Sunday.

In 10 of Tottenham’s 15 Premier League appearances, the 37-time England international has been left out of the Spurs squad completely. Many want Dele to shine at Tottenham, but he simply has not done enough to convince Jose Mourinho.

The January window is approaching and PSG continue to be linked with a move. Now, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed Pochettino is to replace Thomas Tuchel, and O’Hara thinks Pochettino should sign Dele from Spurs for PSG.

“It would be a great move and it could happen,” O’Hara said. “But what does that say about Mourinho about letting him go to PSG. It isn’t working for Alli at Spurs. I looked at the bench – Alli is there, his feet up with trainers on. Where is his head at?”

TBR’s view – Do PSG need an attacking midfielder?

PSG boast plenty of players like Dele. Angel Di Maria can play in the 10 role, Rafinha is more of a deeper midfielder but can do that job, Julian Draxler remains at PSG, Pablo Sarabia, Leandro Paredes too. But none are a natural number 10.

Not only do PSG need an attacking midfielder to connect the attack, but Pochettino and Dele would strike a relationship that worked wonders at Tottenham. Feeding the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar would see Dele shine. It is the ideal move.
