Jamie O'Hara suggests Arsenal have missed out on 'unbelievable' £30m player
Arsenal have endured a difficult start to the new Premier League season.
The Gunners have lost their first two games, conceding four goals and scoring none.
Meanwhile, Danny Ings has hit the ground running at Aston Villa following his summer move from Southampton.
The 29-year-old has two goals from two games, including his amazing overhead kick in the 2-0 win over Newcastle.
Ings’ goal earned huge praise from pundits, including Jermaine Beckford, who was commentating on BBC Sport.
“What have I just seen?! This is a beautiful goal,” he said (21/8/21, 15:53).
“An overhead kick and it’s absolutely phenomenal from the long throw.
“It’s unbelievable skill from Danny Ings, he’s just been so athletic with it as he launched it into the bottom of the net.
“Under pressure as well? That reminds me of Wayne Rooney’s but better and on his home debut!”
And Jamie O’Hara is at a loss as to why Arsenal didn’t think of moving for Ings this summer.
“I just look at Danny Ings and think why is like an Arsenal not coming for you?” he said on talkSPORT.
Alex Crook, talkSPORT’s transfer guru, reckons Manchester United also could’ve done with an Ings in their ranks.
“I would flip that around and say have Manchester United missed a trick when it comes to Danny Ings?” he said.
“£30million, someone who has scored goals in the Premier League, scored a wonderful goal for Aston Villa (on Saturday).
“Are you telling me that Danny Ings isn’t an upgrade on Anthony Martial?
“And he wanted to go to Manchester City or Manchester United, that was his preferred destination.”
