‘You can’t be doing that’: Jamie O’Hara slams Tottenham star for embarrassing himself against West Ham

Former Tottenham midfielder, Jamie O’Hara, has slammed current Spurs ace Heung-Min Son for embarrassing himself in the win over West Ham yesterday.

Son was spotted going to the ground when Kurt Zouma kicked the ball at him from around 10 yards away. It was a nothing moment and there was no need for Son to go to the ground and it spoiled what was an otherwise brilliant day for the South Korean forward.

It’s not the first time in Son’s career he’s been accused of overdoing things a bit. And speaking on Talksport today, former Spurs ace O’Hara conceded that Son had completely embarrassed himself against the Hammers.

“That was embarrassing. I love Son and he was absolutely brilliant yesterday. But you can’t be doing that, Zouma kicks the ball at him and he goes down like a sack of potatoes,” O’Hara commented.

“I just think it gives a really bad look to all the young up and coming footballers out there. You don’t want to do that. It’s unsportsmanlike. Why do you want to get players sent off? If it’s a bad tackle then fair enough. But stuff like that, come on.”

TBR’s View: No Need For Son To Tarnish An Otherwise Faultless Day

It beggars belief as to why footballers feel the need to do things like this. It was pathetic from Son, in truth, and the sort of thing VAR should look back at and punish the player for.

In a nutshell, it is cheating from the Tottenham man. Other acts of cheating can be punishable on the field so this is one where it should be considered as well.

Annoyingly, there is no need for Son to do this. He is so good that his football does the talking. Moments like this just put a stain on his reputation that he doesn’t need.
