Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign a new striker this summer.
The North Londoners have done some good business already in this window. Timo Werner has been re-signed on loan while Archie Gray has come in on a long-term deal. Lucas Bergvall has officially moved to the club as well.
Tottenham have won all of their pre-season games so far, which has further brightened the mood in and around the club ahead of the start of the new season.
However, Spurs still have some work to do on the transfer market, and a new striker is expected to be high on Ange Postecoglou’s wish list.
Jamie O’Hara delivers verdict on Dominic Solanke potentially joining Tottenham
Dominic Solanke has emerged as a key target for Tottenham.
The Bournemouth striker had an amazing 2023/24 campaign in the Premier League. He scored 19 goals and provided three assists, which is a very good return.
Fabrizio Romano revealed recently that Tottenham are exploring a move to sign Solanke before the window shuts. He is on their list of targets.
Spurs are yet to replace Harry Kane after he left them for Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023. They really need a new striker in this window.
Solanke may not be the most exciting name on the market, but he is still a very good player. His numbers last season prove that he can score goals, and he would fit into Postecoglou’s system too.
Jamie O’Hara was asked about Tottenham being linked to Solanke, and the pundit seems excited about the possibility of seeing the striker in a Spurs shirt.
He said on talkSPORT: “I think he would be a great signing. I think he’s really good. Big season last season. I think he would do well for Spurs.
“Solanke’s link-up is really good. You can stick it into him, you know, runners will play off him. You know, you can get Son beyond him. He has got pace as well, he can finish.
“I think he would be a really good player for us.”

Solanke plays just like a former Tottenham star
The reaction to Tottenham’s links to Solanke has been mixed.
Some, like O’Hara, feel he would be a good option for Spurs, while others have found the interest in the Bournemouth man really underwhelming.
However, we think Solanke, for the right price, would be a very good signing for Tottenham. He’s clearly an upgrade on Richarlison and offers a presence up front that Spurs don’t have.
To add to that, he has a ton of experience playing in the Premier League and the fact that he is still only 26 means he’s on the verge of entering his prime.
What may get Tottenham fans a bit more excited is that Charlie Daniels, who was once on Spurs’ books, has compared Solanke to Harry Kane.
“Dom combines the role of a No 9 and a No 10, a bit like Harry does,” he said. “He wants to stretch the game in behind but can also receive it to feet. His movement’s the same as Harry’s and they’ve the same intelligence.
“They both hold the ball up, they’re quite strong. Harry’s a more natural finisher but you can see the similarities.”
