‘I think we’re seeing’: Jamie O’Hara says teams look at one area of Liverpool’s XI and know they can beat them this season

Jamie O’Hara has been speaking on Sky Sports about Liverpool today and believes the Reds could even be struggling to make the top four as things stand.

The Reds managed to pick up a 0-0 draw against Everton yesterday and had VAR to thank for ruling out a Conor Coady goal late in the day at Goodison. Of course, Liverpool had chances of their own and found Jordan Pickford in fine form throughout for the Toffees.

However, O’Hara believes that Liverpool are seriously lacking in the midfield and ultimately, teams are fancying their chances more and more.

“They don’t seem to be the Liverpool that I am used to seeing. The edge they have over teams, that invincibility that they had over teams from last season where you turn up and think ‘oh here we’ and get beat 2-3 nil,” O’Hara said on Sky Sports.

“I think teams now fancy themselves. They look at the team sheet, look at the midfield and think they’re young players, good young players, but it’s a midfield you look at with Liverpool and think ‘we can overrun this, we can win this’. And I think we’re seeing. I thought Everton were great and nearly won it.”

O’Hara went on to add he doesn’t even think Liverpool will definitely make the top four, based on how things are going.

TBR’s View: Liverpool In Transition

It was always going to be a blow losing Sadio Mane but few could have predicted just how big a blow. So far, it looks like Liverpool are missing the Senegal star more than anyone imagined.

Sure, Diaz is quality and Darwin Nunez might yet come good over the season. But the Reds are missing Mane’s energy and quality down that side and it’s noticeable.

Klopp needs to get on top of things really here and hope their title hopes don’t slip away before it ever really got going.
