Former Tottenham midfielder and regular Talksport pundit, Jamie O’Hara, felt there was a number of positives for Antonio Conte’s side today, including the performances of Dele Alli and Eric Dier.

The experienced English pair were both given starts by Conte, as Spurs battled with a depleted squad and put in a fine performance against Liverpool. Indeed, on another day, Spurs would have won it had it not been for some poor finishing at key times.

However, seeing Alli back in a Tottenham shirt was pleasing for many. The former England man has been struggling for a few seasons now under different managers, but seemed to take his chance today. Dier, on the other hand, seems to be shining under Conte and has been a key player so far.

And O’Hara, taking to his Twitter account following the game, picked out both Alli and Dier as being positives.

Harry Kane made a return to goal scoring form, although he was lucky not to be sent off. Meanwhile, Spurs also kept out Mo Salah at the other end. The Liverpool star failing to score or assist for the first time in 16 games.

There was a feeling it might be sink or swim for Dele Alli today and it’s safe to say he front-crawled his way back into Antonio Conte’s plans. He was excellent at times, and looked very much like the Dele of old.

For Dier, it was yet another solid showing at the back. The defender is slowly becoming vital for Conte, and he seems determined to prove his worth to the Italian.

Tottenham, on the whole, will be pleased with today. However, they’ll know they should have won it and Conte will no doubt be frustrated by that aspect.
