Jamie O’Hara has told TalkSPORT that he does not believe that Mauricio Pochettino returning to Tottenham to replace Jose Mourinho is out of the question, after Mourinho failed to push his side into The FA Cup quarter-finals.
Pochettino was relieved of his duties in November after more than five years at the helm, and was immediately replaced by Mourinho. The former Chelsea boss has taken Spurs back into contention for a top-four finish.
However, Spurs are in some distress. Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko all remain injured, while Dele Alli is misfiring again. Knocked out of The FA Cup, and a Champions League defeat staring them in the face, things are looking bad.
Asked by Alan Brazil on the Scot’s Sports Breakfast Show whether Pochettino could return as manager to replace Mourinho, ex-Spurs midfielder O’Hara stated it “could happen” – claiming he is still loved by Tottenham fans.
“He might,” O’Hara said, when asked if Pochettino could return. “Why not. Has it been done before? Of course it has. He hasn’t got a job and he’s still loved by the Spurs fans. Potentially it could happen.”

TBR’s view – Should Spurs consider a Pochettino recall?
On the whole, Mourinho has made a solid start to life at Tottenham. He has taken a side that were at one point 14th place in the Premier League, to within contention for Champions League qualification.
However, Mourinho will have been tasked with getting a trophy – it is what he is supposedly good at. Such a negative approach to a match against Norwich, then, will not have gone down well.
Mourinho should be given time and another window, but who knows this time next season, if Pochettino is still without a club then a return to the north London club could be on the cards.
