Jamie O’Hara was left raging on Thursday night after he watched former club Tottenham exit the Europa League competition in shocking fashion.
Spurs were beaten 3-0 on the night after extra time during their last-16 away leg against Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb.
Jose Mourinho’s side held a 2-0 aggregate lead from the first leg, but they were second best last night in a crushing loss that has seen them exit Europe for another season.
Dinamo’s hero was winger Mislav Orsic, who scored a remarkable hat-trick to put the hosts in the draw for the Europa League quarter-finals.
He scored twice in the second half with brilliant strikes, but from a Spurs perspective defenders weren’t close enough to him.
His winner came in the 106th minute during extra time with an amazing solo goal, again though question marks have to be raised over the way he ghosted through opponents.
Pundit and ex-Spurs midfielder O’Hara didn’t hold back with his reaction instantly after the game.
He shared on Twitter his emotion, which included him explaining he’s desperate the north London club sign a new centre-back in at the end of the season.
TBR’s View:
If you rewind to a week ago, everything was starting to look somewhat encouraging at Spurs.
But a week later fans will be at boiling point.
They watched their team lose the north London derby against Arsenal at the weekend, as they missed a big opportunity to close some ground on the top four.
Mourinho’s side then followed it up with an abysmal team display that saw them throw away a two-goal advantage.
It felt like most of the team were miles off their usual standards, and O’Hara has stated something everyone knows, in terms of the club in need of a new signing in the heart of defence.
