Jamie O’Hara has named the position where Tottenham need to sign a player
Jamie O’Hara has claimed that his former club Tottenham “desperately” need to sign someone to play as a creative midfielder.
Spurs have heavily relied on the attacking pair of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son for a large portion of their goals this season, which is why some have been questioning the input from other areas of the pitch.
Ex-Spurs midfielder O’Hara wants to see a creative playmaker signed by the North London club, citing former players Christian Eriksen, Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric as prime examples of what the current team needs.
But manager Jose Mourinho may already have the options available to him, rather he just has a different tactical approach to his midfield.
Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso are some of the players in the squad that could fill a number 10 pocket, but usually this season the central midfielders have been box-to-box.
Always had a proper no10 eriksen, van der vaart, modric, we don’t have that now need one desperately https://t.co/kINz1pRbLR

TBR’s View:
Realistically, it doesn’t look like there is room in the Spurs squad to sign a number 10 creator.
They have the options to fill that position and it would be great to see either Alli, Lo Celso or Ndombele given the licence to stay up the pitch in games against the lesser teams.
But Mourinho’s side usually works with two box-to-box central midfielders alongside the defensively minded Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and it’s hard to picture that changing anytime soon.
