Jamie O’Hara has taken to Twitter to lament Son Heung-min after the Tottenham Hotspur forward missed a big chance to double their lead in the early stages of their Premier League clash with West Ham on Sunday.

Son has been on a really strange run of form of late. He went into the game having scored three and provided two assists in his previous nine games. Amongst the run came the goal that saw Son and Harry Kane break the record for being the most lethal Premier League partnership of all-time.

And he actually played a key role in the opening goal. It was his attempt to get onto the end of Kane’s cross that led to Kurt Zouma putting the ball into his own net.

He was then gifted a brilliant opportunity to put Tottenham 2-0 up. Spurs looked dangerous anytime they went forward. But it was actually West Ham who came close to scoring after the deadlock was broken.

Michail Antonio outmuscled Cristian Romero and got a shot away. However, his attempt went wide of the post. And the visitors were nearly made to pay shortly after.

Son was played in after some brilliant work from Dejan Kulusevski. The pass from the Swede was slightly behind Son, and the Tottenham man could not quite wrap his foot around the ball enough.

His effort hit the outside of the post and went out for a goal kick, and O’Hara clearly felt that he should have done a lot better…

O’Hara made to eat his words shortly after as Son doubles Tottenham lead

Perhaps Son should have done better with his chance. But Tottenham fans would not need to wait long for a reminder of what Son can do.

He doubled the lead at the midway point in the first-half. His effort was deflected over Lukasz Fabianski by Zouma after an amazing assist from Kane.

O’Hara may feel that his goals tally could be even better. But Son deserves a lot of credit for still scoring, even when he has not been at his best for Tottenham for a little while.
