Aston Villa’s fingerprints were all over England’s 3-0 win against Wales on Thursday.
Indeed, early goals from Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins seemed to settle the game before it even got going, while Bukayo Saka added a third goal to seal the win for the Three Lions.
Thomas Tuchel’s side picked up an important win here as they continue their quest to qualify for the World Cup in the summer.
As you can imagine, a lot of the chat after the game centred around the two Villans on the scoresheet.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, Jamie O’Hara discussed Morgan Rogers after his outing, and he made an interesting comparison between the Aston Villa midfielder and another England international.

Jamie O’Hara compares Morgan Rogers to Jude Bellingham
O’Hara shared his verdict on Rogers after his performance for England against Wales.
The pundit hailed Rogers as a ‘fantastic’ player, and while he noted that his club form hasn’t been great to start this season, he compared him to Jude Bellingham when he’s playing his best football.
Bellingham praised Rogers last season after his performances for England.
Rogers won the PFA Young Player of the Year award last season and has been a regular in the England team over the past 12 months.
“I think Morgan Rogers is fantastic. He hasn’t been playing that well for Villa this season. No, I think they’ve had a bit of a struggle. They’ve had a bit of a sticky start. You know, he’s very much like Jude Bellingham the way he plays, isn’t he?” O’Hara said.
Jamie Redknapp has also compared Morgan Rogers to Jude Bellingham
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard this comparison.
Jamie O’Hara compared Rogers to Bellingham, and 12 months ago, Jamie Redknapp said similar.
“He’s different. Jude Bellingham is obviously [England’s] stand-out number 10 in that role. But there are parts of what Jude Bellingham does that we all admire which he (Rogers) was doing today.
“But Jude Bellingham’s goals are such an important factor of his game, so that’s what he’s going to have to add.
“He stood out. Alongside Odegaard and Rice, he was the outstanding midfield player. Not just by a little bit, but by a long way.
“I thought he was magnificent.”
Bellingham came through the academy at Birmingham City, while Rogers is currently starring for Aston Villa. Who knows? Maybe there’s something in the water in Birmingham that is helping these types of players thrive in that attacking midfield role.
