Tottenham Hotspur-supporting pundit Jamie O’Hara has branded Jason Cundy ‘a typical Chelsea fan’ after he criticised Spurs last night.
Antonio Conte’s side were held to a 1-1 draw by Sporting Lisbon yesterday. Spurs fans will argue that they were unlucky not to come away with a win, but Cundy believes they deserved nothing more than a point.

Jamie O’Hara calls Jason Cundy ‘a typical Chelsea fan’ for criticising Tottenham
The Champions League clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last night was a game of two halves.
Spurs were really, really poor in the first 45 minutes and deservedly went 1-0 down. After the break, however, they looked like a completely different team and dominated Sporting. It was one of their best halves of football this season, but it still wasn’t enough for them to pick up all three points.
O’Hara was full of praise for his side’s second-half display, but Cundy was having none of that. He said Tottenham got exactly what they deserved from the game.
Here’s how their conversation went on talkSPORT last night:
Cundy: “You got what you deserved. In the first half, Sporting could have gone two up, they missed an open goal. Spurs really came away unconvincing. They got out of jail. You didn’t deserve to win that. A draw is a fair result. How can you argue?”
O’Hara: “We were brilliant in the second half.”
Cundy: “Again Spurs were unconvincing in the first half. You didn’t get away with it against Newcastle but you nearly did tonight. You are still top of the group and it’s in your hands. You really didn’t deserve to win the game.”
O’Hara: “Typical Chelsea fan. You don’t have to come on here every night trying to stick the knife into Tottenham. The second-half performance was one of the best we’ve had this season. It was a brilliant game.”
TBR View:
Both Cundy and O’Hara have a point.
Spurs did very well in the second half yesterday, but they could still have conceded twice in the end. That arguably makes a draw a fair result, but there are a lot of positives to take from their performance after the break.
We all saw how good Tottenham can be if Conte gives his attacking players more freedom to express themselves. They were all over Sporting for most parts of the second half, and Spurs fans will be wondering why their team can’t do this from the very first minute.
Cundy is right, Tottenham have been unconvincing so far this season, but the good thing is that they’re still in a fantastic position in both the Premier League and the Champions League. If they can kick on from now, they could go on to achieve something really special.
