Talksport pundit Jamie O’Hara has suggested that Arsenal should already be considering sacking Mikel Arteta, and believes Eddie Howe is the man to come in.
The Gunners and Arteta got off to the worst possible start this weekend in their Premier League opener. A 2-0 loss at Brentford was the stuff of nightmares, with another defensive horror show on display.

Despite promises of a big summer rebuild, Arsenal have actually only signed three players. Ben White, Albert Lokonga, and Nuno Tavares have all arrived, but a number of players have slipped the net, such as Tammy Abraham.
And following the loss to Brentford on Friday, Talksport regular O’Hara tipped former Bournemouth manager Howe for the Gunners job.
Eddie Howe to Arsenal?
Speaking as part of a back and forth with a caller who was demanding Arteta be sacked, O’Hara made the suggestion of Howe when asked who might come in the door.
“They’re heading for the Championship if they keep playing like that. That was one of the worst performances I have seen,” O’Hara began.
“They have an assistant manager in charge. Eddie Howe (would be good). It’s a young squad, he’s brilliant with young players, why wouldn’t you get him in? Least it will give them something fresh, least it’ll have a manager who has done it in the Premier League.”
Howe has been out of work since leaving the Cherries. He came close to joining Celtic in the summer, only for a move to collapse in the final stages.
While at Bournemouth, Howe notched up 56 wins in the Premier League in 190 games. He eventually couldn’t prevent the club from the drop, despite a prolonged stay in the PL.
