It would be extremely unfair to be too critical of Rangers boss Steven Gerrard for the decision to loan Jamie Murphy out during the January transfer window.
Murphy has barely featured since sustaining an injury early last season that ruled him out for the majority of the campaign.

And after two substitute appearances this term, the 30-year-old was given the green light to leave Ibrox for the rest of the season last month.
Murphy joined Burton Albion. And it is fair to say that he has proved to be an inspired signing for the League One side.

He has scored four goals in his last five appearances for the Brewers. And with Rangers struggling for goals right now, it would be no surprise if his form was not going unnoticed by some back at Ibrox.
Of course, Greg Docherty’s situation will act as a warning to those expecting Murphy to be promoted up the pecking order upon his return in the summer.
Docherty was superb during his time in England’s third tier last season. But he also left Rangers on loan in January, having not played for the first-team since August.
But perhaps there may be more of an opening for Murphy than there was for Docherty.
Rangers look a lot stronger in the middle of the park than they do out wide right now. So perhaps it may not be out of the question for Murphy to turn his fortunes around when he comes back to the Gers.
If he continues to score at anything like his current rate, Gerrard surely cannot rule out giving him another opportunity from next season.
