Jamie Carragher has praised Everton’s reveal for their new stadium plan and believe it will be positive for them moving forward.

The Toffees have unveiled plans for a new ground that fits 52,000 and is expected to be ready for the 2023/24 campaign.

The Merseyside club released a preview of a new stadium on Bramley Moore Dock, which could be a new home for when they leave Goodison Park.

Ex-Liverpool defender and now pundit Carragher has reacted on Twitter positively to the new waterfront stadium designs.

It has an extremely modern design that includes plans to have a large 13,000 south stand to make a ‘blue wall’.

“Looks fantastic & it will be great for Everton going forward, it will be huge also in the regeneration of the north end of the city!” Carragher wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:

Everton do appear to be taking steps forward under owner Farhad Moshiri and a new stunning stadium in a few years time would be great.

They are willing to fork out £60million plus Cenk Tosun (Telegraph) to try sign Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha this summer and trying to be ambitious.

Manager Marco Silva needs to try force his way into the European spots in the new campaign, but faces some strong competition.

Arsenal’s switch to a new stadium since leaving Highbury hasn’t resulted in improvements on the pitch and ultimately investing in the squad is the most important thing.
