Jamie Carragher tweets joke about Leandro Trossard after Arsenal rumours today
As per the Telegraph, a deal could be worth in the region of £20 million to £25 million, taking into account Trossard’s contract situation.
He has months remaining on his current Seagulls deal but they do have an option to extend it by a year, which would bolster some of his market value.
Carragher makes joke about Trossard to Arsenal links
Trossard just turned 28, which is slightly older than the age profile Mikel Arteta has been preferring for his Gunners signings.
Carragher made reference to that fact and a historic argument online between two Gunners fans about potentially signing Jackson Martinez.
That online spat gave rise to the line ‘he’s 28 until he becomes 29, that’s how it works’, in a surprisingly granular debate about Martinez’s age.
Carragher made the joke here as the Trossard to Arsenal rumours gather pace and have been widely reported today..
The Gunners need to move on from the failed pursuits of Joao Felix, and to a greater extent, Mkhaylo Mudryk, and get a new forward through the door.
Trossard is Premier League proven, versatile and should not cost the earth, so there is plenty to like about the deal from an Arsenal perspective.
