Liverpool need to rotate their squad to deal with the demands of chasing silverware across three competitions.
They faced their bitter rivals Manchester United last night but the game was not the kind of contest we would expect from such a match.
Liverpool could make changes by the end and their next game is against Everton, which could be a similar story.
Jamie Carragher has suggested on Sky Sports that Jurgen Klopp could make changes for that one, taking a logical decision based on the standard of the opposition, rather than the historical significance.

“For me I always class that as the bigger game rather than actually tonight. For me, maybe being an Everton fan as a kid, or being in the city, for me it’s always the biggest game of the season,” said Carragher.
“I think Jurgen Klopp may actually take the emotion out of it. He has got to be brave between now and the end of the season.
“He can’t play the same eight or nine players every game when there’s still 11 games to go, if they get to everywhere they want to get to.
“I think he may look at that game and say I may need to brave in this game and say this is a team who are actually fourth of fifth from bottom.
“If we were playing Leeds or Brentford I’d make five or six changes. The actual nine that he has who are set in stone, I think we could see a game where Tsimikas comes in, Firmino and Jota play, maybe Curtis Jones plays. I think it could be that one.”

Liverpool have such a strong squad right now and hardly any injury issues to deal with, and that is something Klopp has to make the most of.
The only absentee last night was Firmino, who Ian Wright recently called ‘elite‘ and is an incredible option to have in reserve.
Klopp has played a rotated team in the FA Cup against Everton before, so he does not mind going into a Merseyside derby without his best 11.
And he did similar in a Premier League clash during Marco Silva’s reign, so it might make sense to do it against a Toffees side who really struggle away from home.
