Leeds United came from behind to produce a stunning comeback win against Wolves at Molineux last night, with Luke Ayling netting the all important and late winner.
The Whites had looked dead and buried at the break as a disjointed performance and a number of injuries – including to Patrick Bamford – once again threatened to make it a tough day. However, Leeds rallied, and after Rodrigo and Jack Harrison had both scored, Ayling netted in dramatic fashion to send the away end into raptures.

Leeds, as we all know, are a team for the neutral. Their games are end to end and the way they play makes for an exciting watching. But watching on for Sky last night, Jamie Carragher couldn’t quite believe what Luke Ayling did when he had a throw-in during the 95th minute.
Ayling took the throw like it was the opening 20 minutes and allowed Wolves to get the ball back. And Carragher, who was on co-comms, couldn’t quite believe it.
“With this man (Marsch) and Bielsa in charge, sometimes I see things I cannot believe. That was another one. Luke Ayling takes a quick throw-in, with three minutes to go, when you’re winning. They get the free-kick out of it but it could easily have gone the other way. But that’s why everyone loves watching Leeds,” Carragher said on Sky.
TBR’s View: Ayling Throw Sums Leeds Up
It might have been down to adrenalin last night but this Leeds side just do not know when to stop. They keep going and going and they seem to know only one way of playing. And that’s pedal to the floor, constant front-foot football.
Ayling will probably look back and wonder what he was doing. But in the end, regardless of Carragher’s amusement, Leeds got away with it on another memorable night.
