Leeds United produced their biggest result in years as they saw off Liverpool at Anfield thanks to a last minute winner.
The Whites fully deserved the win as well. A brilliant second half display had Liverpool on the back foot throughout and Crysensio Summerville was the man to get the winner. It was a winner that sent the travelling Leeds fans into raptures as well.
Watching on for Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher noticed the Leeds fans absolutely loving the last few moments. There were ‘ole’s’ from the Leeds end, as well as ironic cheers whenever Liverpool lost possession.

And Carragher pointed this out, admitting that the Leeds fans deserved to ‘milk’ the result.
“Leeds’ fans know how big a result this is. It’s so long since anyone’s won at Anfield. They’re going to milk it and rightly so. It will do wonders for them, in terms of the league table,” Carragher said on Sky comms.
“This isn’t a blip for Liverpool, this is a serious problem.”
The result brought an end to a remarkable run for Virgil van Dijk as well. Liverpool hadn’t lost a game with the Dutchman involved at Anfield in 70 attempts. However, alongside Joe Gomez, Van Dijk was once again nowhere near his imperious best.
TBR’s View: Leeds see a day they’ll never forget at Liverpool
Few teams win at Anfield as it is, never mind just in the last few years. It goes without saying, then, that this was a momentous result for the Whites.
Leeds fully deserved it as well and their fans, after seeing some dismal results recently, rightly enjoyed the show in Liverpool.
For Jesse Marsch, the result was needed. A week or so ago he was being booed by the Leeds faithful amid calls for his head to roll. Now, he’s just headed up one of the biggest results in the club’s recent history.
