Liverpool are preparing for a huge Premier League game this Sunday as they head to Arsenal for a 4:30pm kick-off.

The Reds are flying high at present, sitting pretty at the top of the table and also doing well in the Champions League and Carabao Cup.

Liverpool will be up against an Arsenal side that lost their last Premier League game but who go into this match on the back of a win in the Champions League.

Jamie Carragher has now issued a warning to Liverpool and manager Arne Slot over something he saw from the Arsenal camp on Friday.

Jamie Carragher warns Liverpool not to trust Mikel Arteta comments

Carragher, speaking on Sky Sports News (25/10/2024, 7:13pm), said he saw a news report in which Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said numerous key players haven’t trained.

The Liverpool legend says he’s “seen that one before”, namely that players are deemed doubts before then starting – or at least being in the squad – on the day.

“I saw a news on Sky Sports News today when I was on the way, and they were saying five or six players haven’t trained, but I am not falling for it,” said Carragher.

“They are definitely in the gym and they come out when the cameras have gone out.

“I’ve seen that one before, so I am not falling for it. Hopefully, Arne Alot and the Liverpool team are not falling for that as well.”

Arsenal v Liverpool team news

Arsenal are definitely without William Saliba, who is suspended, while fellow defender Riccardo Calafiori is undergoing tests on a knee injury.

Arteta also said Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber are both “very uncertain” to feature – with Carragher urging Liverpool to be mindful of what he said.

As for the Reds, forward Diogo Jota has been ruled out after he suffered a rib injury in last weekend’s win over Chelsea.

Alisson and Harvey Elliott remain sidelined, while the game will come too soon for Conor Bradley and Federico Chiesa.
