Jamie Carragher believes that the “madness” around Leeds United games could prove key in their Premier League relegation battle.

The Sky Sports pundit, speaking on The Overlap Live Fan Debate 3.0, responded to a Whites fan who joked watching his team should come with a health warning.

Leeds have endured a difficult season, but things finally seem to be on the right track at Elland Road.

The Whites looked to be freefalling towards the foot of the table up until three weeks ago.

Leeds had just lost 3-0 to Aston Villa and it looked as though nothing could go right for the club.

This was despite the Whites board making the tough and controversial decision to replace Marcelo Bielsa with Jesse Marsch.

However, Leeds went on to win their next game, beating Norwich 2-1 at Elland Road.

It wasn’t easy, mind – the Canaries equalised in injury time, only for Leeds to net a 94th-minute winner.

The Wolves game was even more painful for Leeds fans, as they trailed 2-0 past the hour mark.

Leeds then struck twice in the 63rd and 66th minute before finding another injury-time winner.

“You can’t believe what you’re seeing”

Now, the Whites will resume their Premier League campaign seven points clear of the bottom three.

And Carragher reckons Leeds have an advantage over some of the other relegation battlers.

Speaking with the Leeds fan, Carragher said: “Do you think what you said about Leeds, watching them should come with a health warning?

“That sort of madness… in some ways, it could probably keep you up.

“Because when I think of the other teams down there, you do watch them and think ‘how will they score a goal?’

“With Leeds though, you do think yeah, you could concede two but you could score four.

“It’s mad when you watch it.

“Sometimes you’re watching certain things when you’re commentating and working on the games, and you can’t believe what you’re seeing.

“But I do sometimes think that sort of madness around Leeds games could keep you up.”
