Liverpool made it six wins from six in the Champions League and afterwards, Jamie Carragher raved about Tyler Morton.

The 19-year-old was handed another Champions League start in the San Siro and he didn’t disappoint.

He was pulling the strings like a seasoned professional and he looks set for a really bright future.

Liverpool finished their group campaign with a 2-1 win that saw progress into the last 16 with 18 points.

The Reds have been formidable, despite many pundits believing Group B to be the Group of Death.

Liverpool have defeated Atletico Madrid, Porto and AC Milan twice and will head into the next round in confident spirits.

Jurgen Klopp has a proud record of handing academy players the chance to shine and Morton looks to be the next to benefit.

He has been playing with the under-23 ranks over the past 18 months and has scored five goals in 26 appearances.

This season he has found himself on the fringes of Klopp’s team and last night he was in fine form.

The travelling Liverpool supporters were impressed with him and Carragher was too.

What did Carragher say about Liverpool talent Tyler Morton?

It’s fair to say that he was mightily impressed with the youngster.

Carragher knows all about coming through the youth team and making an impact on the Liverpool first-team.

He ended his career as a one-club man and helped Liverpool win a Champions League title during his career.

Morton will hope to emulate the former centre-back and make a name for himself at Anfield.

Liverpool have lots of midfield options but it’s fair to say that Klopp fancies Morton.

He should have no qualms about throwing him into the action again after such a mature performance in Milan.
