Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher was left in awe of Aston Villa youngster Jacob Ramsey after his performance against Southampton last night.
Ramsey got the winning goal for Villa as he continued to build his blossoming reputation in the game. He’s highly-rated at Villa Park and is already a key player for manager, Steven Gerrard.

And speaking about Ramsey after the game, former Liverpool and England defender Carragher admitted he’s been really impressed by the youngster every time he’s seen him.
“I love him. He’s a super player. He doesn’t look like a young kid playing in a man’s game. When you think of the game against Man City, I thought it was interesting that he played as part of the front three, and tonight he played in midfield,” Carragher said after the game (quotes via Birmingham Live).
“I spoke to Gary McAllister before the game, I said to him: ‘How good is Ramsey?’ And he said he can go right to the top. We’re talking about international honours and playing in the Champions League. I think he can certainly play at that level in the next couple of years.”
TBR’s View: Ramsey A Star Of The Future
Well, he’s a star for Villa right now but for England and potentially one of the big six clubs, Ramsey could push on further.
We are looking at a superb player here with all the potential in the world. He’s shown it already at times in the Premier League and he’s now making a real difference for this Villa side. The sky is the limit for Ramsey and under Steven Gerrard, he has the perfect tutor to master the midfield role.
