Jamie Carragher predicts where Tottenham will finish this season if they sell Harry Kane to Manchester City

Jamie Carragher claims that Tottenham Hotspur won’t finish below sixth, even if they sell Harry Kane this summer.

No low finish

Speaking to the Overlap, Carragher was questioning just how big an impact Kane’s departure could have on Spurs.

But he felt that Tottenham wouldn’t fall out of contention to be fighting for a European place, even if their talisman does depart this summer.

“Where’s the lowest Tottenham will finish? You sell Kane, spend a £100 million. Tottenham will always be sixth, challenging for the Champions League positions,” he said.

Will Kane go?

If Tottenham were to sell Kane then signing a new number nine would surely be a priority.

Spurs have already been linked with Lautaro Martinez and Dusan Vlahovic this summer, although the suggestions are that they actually are seeking a partner for Kane, rather than a replacement.

Spurs have fought hard to keep hold of their main goalscorer so far this summer, but they are coming under increasing pressure to sell.

Fabrizio Romano has suggested that City could launch an increased bid for the England captain soon.

And with Kane delaying his return to Tottenham training, it will be interesting to see if Daniel Levy’s head could be turned.
