Jamie Carragher predicts next Liverpool player to sign contract, as club announce deal for Jordan Henderson
Jamie Carragher has told SSN (Tuesday, 2:05PM) he thinks Mo Salah will be next to sign a Liverpool contract – after Jordan Henderson put pen to paper.
Henderson, 31, has put pen to paper on a long-term deal at Liverpool. Fabrizio Romano claims the contract will last until the summer of 2025.
Henderson is the latest of a long list of players that have penned new Liverpool deals this summer. The Reds have chosen to sort out contracts.
Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson and Alisson have all put pen to paper. Carragher expects Salah will be next.
The 28-year-old is in the final two years of his contract at Liverpool. Salah remains just as important to Liverpool, and Carragher thinks he is next.
“I think Mo Salah will be the next one, if they can get that done in the next couple of months,” Carragher told Sky Sports News on Tuesday (2:05PM).
“The club won’t be spending much, the money has been spent on renewing contracts. I expect Salah to sign.”
Carragher on Salah: Right move to hand Egyptian a Liverpool deal?
Without a doubt. Many criticised Salah last season for his overall game play last season, but the hardest thing to do is to put the ball in the net.
He did that just as much as ever. Salah scored 31 goals and laid on six assists in 51 games last season, and has two goals and two assists this term.
He is absolutely crucial to Liverpool and even if his hold-up play is not the best – his goals are. Keeping Salah at the club is a must.
Handing him a new deal, then, perhaps to the summer of 2025, makes utter sense. Liverpool have made the right moves so far, and Salah could be next.
