Jamie Carragher praises Arsenal's business in the summer transfer window
Jamie Carragher has boldly claimed that Arsenal have done transfer business better than anybody else in the Premier League.
As per the Sun, Carragher has been impressed with what the Gunners have done during a window where it was long feared they didn’t have enough money to spend.
When asked who had done the best transfer business, Carragher said: “I’m looking at Arsenal. Not so much as in I think they are going to challenge for the title, I still think they will be there or thereabouts in the top four.
“Think about the pessimism after the Europa League final and how far they were away from Chelsea. They seem to have done a lot of business and come out a lot healthier than people, certainly Arsenal fans, were fearing. Maybe Arsenal are being clever telling people that they had £40 million to spend.”
TBR’s View – Carragher’s made a bold claim
Arsenal’s transfer business has got their fans excited; perhaps because it was so unexpected given how little they expected their club to spend after failing to qualify for the Champions League.
They have got two centre halves and a left back – but lack cover at right back. Dani Ceballos replaces Aaron Ramsey, but was more steel in the engine room needed as well?
Nicolas Pepe completes a mouth-watering frontline, but how will Emery get the balance right? To say Arsenal’s transfer business is the best in the Premier League is a bold claim from Carragher – but only time will tell.
