Jamie Carragher mentions Leeds when discussing coronavirus, Gary Neville responds

Jamie Carragher has mentioned Leeds United when discussing the affects of coronavirus on Twitter, claiming the 2019-20 campaign may become void – and Gary Neville has responded by claiming anything is possible.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has tested positive for coronavirus, and on Friday morning, Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi posted a short video on Twitter confirming he has tested positive for the illness – but has since recovered from it.

Brendan Rodgers confirmed some Leicester players were self-isolating after showing symptoms, and now the Premier League and Football League are coming under intense scrutiny to postpone this weekend’s matches – and future games.

Most European leagues have now been postponed indefinitely, while the MLS has stopped for 30 days. Discussion has been made over whether this season will be voided, or whether it will resume when coronavirus is dealt with.

Carragher mentioned Leeds when discussing what could happen, and Neville replied.

TBR’s view – Surely a season cannot be voided?

Liverpool, Leeds United, and supporters of other clubs that are currently sitting at the top of their current tables will be concerned. The Reds are close to ending their 30-year hunt for a title, while Leeds are close to a Premier League return.

It would be harsh on the likes of Leeds and Liverpool, who have enjoyed excellent campaigns. Surely postponing the Premier League and Football League until the summer is obvious, moving back Euro 2020 until next year.
