Jamie Carragher lauds Trent Alexander-Arnold and Thiago, as Liverpool secure CL football
Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, was delighted to see his former team secure Champions League football with a 2-0 win against Palace today.
Sadio Mane’s double ensured the Reds would finish inside the top four after a remarkable of form late in the season.
It’s quite the achievement for Liverpool. They have been without Virgil van Dijk all season, while other defenders such as Joe Gomez and Joel Matip have also barley featured.
The likes of Fabinho, Nat Phillips, and Rhys Williams will come out with plenty of credit. But Carragher, who took to Twitter just a short while ago, believes Trent Alexander-Arnold is the one who has stepped up for the Reds of late.
Third in the #PremierLeague for @LFC is remarkable considering the injury problems & having to win the final 5 games!
TAA has been a real leader in the last few months & Thiago the same in the last few weeks. #LIVCRY

Carragher is clearly a fan of Alexander-Arnold and has advocated his inclusion in the Euros squad on more than one occasion.
Certainly, the fullback has given Gareth Southgate some food for thought. A number of assists in the last few weeks have shown his attacking prowess off, while defensively, ‘Trent’ has been solid.
Carragher also praised Spanish midfielder, Thiago. The former Bayern star has been brilliant in the last few weeks, with Fabinho alongside him helping him manage games.
TBR View: Alexander-Arnold has to go with England
Surely he does? He’s too good to leave out and his set pieces are simply outstanding at times.
Liverpool deserve serious credit for their run of form. Jurgen Klopp will be delighted with what he’s seen lately and with a few tweaks in the summer and some players back, he’ll fancy a run at Manchester City next term.
