Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has jokingly asked Conor Coady on the Greatest Game podcast if he’s told Wolves teammate Pedro Neto “how good Liverpool is”.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have endured a difficult season with plenty of players finding themselves on the sidelines at various points of the campaign.

Liverpool’s normally feared attacking trident of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah hasn’t reached its usually impressive heights this season.

Meanwhile, Neto has been superb for his club, one of the few positives for Wolves in a campaign which, much like Liverpool’s, has fallen below expectation.

With Raul Jimenez out injured and Adama Traore in poor form this term, Neto has carried much of the team’s creative responsibilities over the past few months.

Carragher and Coady – a Liverpool fan – spoke on the Greatest Game podcast when the former tried his luck.

“Have you spoken to him about how good Liverpool is?” the 43-year-old asked.

However, Coady wasn’t having any of it, replying: “He’s not leaving Wolves!”

The Wolves defender went on to praise his colleague, saying: “(He’s) really good. He’s class. You forget he’s 21, I look at him as a 28-year-old. He doesn’t look that age.

“We were talking the other day and we were on about how he’s born in 2000 and we were putting him in the same category as Phil Foden.

“You look at how well he’s doing and then you look at the numbers Pedro is bringing up as well, and the assists and the goals and how he’s affecting games for Wolves.

“He’s an incredible player, absolutely incredible.”

Worth a try eh Carra?

Coady’s praise for Neto is very high indeed, and he certainly seems like a player who’s got so much potential and could well become one of the league’s standout players in the next few years.

However, he’s contracted to Wolves until 2025, and you’d think the club won’t be too willing to sell another top player just a year after losing Diogo Jota.
