Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports – as per Football Daily – that he hopes David Moyes can have similar success at West Ham United as he did at Everton, after overseeing his Hammers side produce a three-goal comeback against Tottenham on Sunday.
West Ham were three goals down against London rivals Tottenham on Sunday but came back to draw 3-3 in the last 10 minutes, thanks to a Fabian Balbuena header, a Davinson Sanchez own goal and a rocket from Manuel Lanzini.
Moyes managed 518 matches during an 11-year period at Everton, enjoying numerous different versions of success including 218 wins and a top-four finish. He has since endure a turbulent spell in management, and is now in his second Hammers spell.
Carragher reacted to West Ham’s 3-3 draw and the Hammers’ recent form – and stated that he hopes that the former Manchester United, Sunderland and Real Sociedad boss can have a similar impact at West Ham to the one he did at Everton.

“They’ve had some oustanding results,” Carragher said. “Seven points from those nine, especially after a difficult start. “I really hope David Moyes does a similar job at West Ham to what he did at Everton.
“I hope he gets a good few years there and makes them what he did at Everton. They’re similar sorts of clubs, just outside the top six, tradition and supporters. Moyes got close to the top six, and West Ham fans are craving that.”
TBR’s view – Can Moyes do just that?
Replicating a spell such as his Everton one will be difficult. The average time in charge at a Premier League club is slowly increasing, but it remains far shorter than Moyes’ 11-year spell on Merseyside.
His Everton spell is third only to Sir Alex Ferguson’s time at Manchester United, and Arsene Wenger’s 22-year Arsenal tenure. But certainly, if he can build on current form, Moyes will be hopeful he can stay for at least the next couple of seasons.
