Jamie Carragher has explained why he thinks Tottenham star Harry Kane is the most “street-wise” footballer in the Premier League, as well as claiming he’s the perfect fit for Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho.
Despite fears he would struggle under Mourinho, Kane has thrived during the manager’s first year in charge and he’s helped his side to top of the Premier League table as it stands.
The centre-forward has been on fire this season, scoring 13 goals and supplying 11 assists in just 15 games across all competitions.
Sky pundit Carragher has been analysing the 27-year-old’s all round game and the way he holds the ball, particularly in the weekend’s 1-o victory against Manchester City.
“Harry Kane, I think is the most street-wise footballer in the Premier League by a long way and I love it… What he does is that he makes sure he gets fouls. It’s not diving,” Carragher told Sky Sports’ Main Event channel (10:30pm, 24 November).
“This is what he’s brilliant at. He’s up against one of the strongest players in the league in Kyle Walker.
“I can assure you all Harry Kane is thinking about now is getting a free-kick, he’s not going to run past Kyle Walker. You’ve got to be clever against him. Again, that’s why I go back, very, very street-wise. Typical Mourinho player. Kyle Walker falls for it.”

TBR’s View:
Mourinho has worked with some top-class strikers during his managerial career and he’s got the luxury of having one of the world’s best frontmen in his current team.
The England captain looks the complete forward right now, as he’s involved in linking up play and holding up play on top of his brilliant goalscoring threat in the penalty area.
With Kane and teammate Heung-Min Son both in the form of their life right now, Spurs fans have every right to be dreaming about silverware this season as they are off to a quick-fire start and appear to be growing stronger.
