Jamie Carragher says Tottenham star looks ‘tired’ after poor Euros display

Jamie Carragher has expressed his concern over England and Tottenham striker, Harry Kane, after the forward drew another blank last night.

The Spurs and Three Lions skipper once again looked off the pace and was taken off midway through the second half. The game peetered out into a 0-0 draw, with England more or less through to the next round now.

But in a lethargic performance overall by England, Kane’s struggles once again stood out. And Carragher, who expressed his concerns about Kane after the Croatia win, took to Twitter to once again show his worries.

Gareth Southgate used the Scotland game to change his full-backs, but neither had much joy down the wings.

Southgate also brought Jack Grealish into the fold, while Marcus Rashford also came on for Kane. However, England could create little, and barring a John Stones header that hit the post, never really looked like scoring.

Spurs striker Kane enjoyed a stunning season in terms of stats. He was the top goalscorer and topped the assists chart too. However, a number of niggling injuries also derailed him at times.

It could be, then, that those knocks are catching up. Speculation over his future, with PSG now said to be interested, also won’t be helping.

Carragher is bang on about Harry Kane but he can improve

Whether Kane just needs a goal to get going, remains to be seen. But there are some worrying signs in his game at the moment.

He does, as Carragher says, seem to be off the pace and bordering on being a tad unfit. The razor sharp Kane we’re used to seeing with Spurs seems nowhere near at the moment.

It will certainly be interesting in the next game. Dom Calvert-Lewin will be knocking on the door, while Marcus Rashford will fancy his chances.

Southgate, it seems, has some big calls to make this week.
