Jamie Carragher claims Manchester City would love to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane

Jamie Carragher believes that Manchester City would love nothing more than to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The England captain has proven himself to be one of the deadliest centre-forwards in the world in recent years and he kicked off the new Premier League season with two goals in a win over Aston Villa.

He’s scored 166 goals in 254 senior games for Spurs and is someone that is capable of all types of goals.

Kane will once again spearhead the attack for Mauricio Pochettino’s team this campaign and he’s netted 20-plus goals across all competitions in each of the last five seasons.

Carragher has wrote in his column about the special quality of the 26-year-old and claims that Premier League champions would surely have him as their number one transfer target if he became available.

“Which Spurs player would be on Pep Guardiola’s shopping list? There is a reason he called Spurs ‘the Harry Kane’ team,” Carragher wrote in the Telegraph.

“With Sergio Aguero now 31, Guardiola would love nothing more than to have the Tottenham striker as a natural replacement if the opportunity arose. I would be amazed if he is not the number one choice.”

TBR’s View:

Spurs fans certainly shouldn’t be worried about Kane going anywhere anytime soon, as he clearly loves the club and is hungry for silverware for them.

He is going to be a key player on Saturday evening when Spurs come up against Manchester City and he’s going to have a big role in bringing his teammates into play.

The striker is of course a deadly finisher that is so reliable around the penalty area, but his overall play is underrated and he is one of the best attackers around.

It would take an astronomical fee surely for anywhere to prize him away from Spurs.
