Jamie Carragher claims he knows when Man Utd will sack Ruben Amorim

Ruben Amorim is under increasing pressure at Manchester United, and Jamie Carragher believes he knows when the club will sack him.

Amorim has struggled to find any form of consistency during his tenure at Old Trafford, with Man United not winning consecutive games under his leadership.

The 20-time champions are currently 10th in the Premier League table after winning just three of their opening seven games, and have already been knocked out of the EFL Cup.

Two of their victories came against newly promoted sides, while the other was against a 10-man Chelsea team, with fans yet to be convinced by his approach.

Speculation continues to mount on whether Man United will cut ties with him, but Carragher believes they will, and he knows when it will happen.

Jamie Carragher believes Ruben Amorim will be sacked before Christmas

TBR Football has already revealed that Man United bosses have drawn up a four-man shortlist of names to potentially replace Amorim if the decision to sack him is made.

When speaking on The Overlap Fan Debate about the subject, Carragher believes that Amorim has until Christmas to save his job.

“I never said this manager should be sacked. There’s something about that word that I think sounds a little bit disrespectful. You know, it’s a man’s job.

“But I think sort of saying things like, it feels untenable. It feels like, where’s this, it’s not good for both parties. And I was a little bit there.

“And I just think, I do think it’s inevitable that this is going to happen probably before Christmas and January time. It just, I’ve said this for a long time, but we’re 50 games in. I’ve just looked at the status, unbelievable for a Manchester United manager.

“50 games as the Manchester United manager. He’s only scored two more goals than he’s conceded.”

TBR Football understands that Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are on red alert about this situation, over fears that Man United will swoop in for Andoni Iraola and Oliver Glasner.

Both managers are on Man United’s radar as potential replacements for Amorim, and Carragher also doesn’t seem to be backing the Portuguese coach to turn things around.

How many games will Ruben Amorim have to turn things around?

If Carragher’s timeline is to be believed, then Amorim will have just 10 games to salvage his career at Man United.

All of those are in the Premier League, which could effectively make or break their season. Given that most other clubs are competing in Europe or the EFL Cup, the Red Devils do have a distinct advantage.

However, only four of those fixtures take place at Old Trafford, and they do have some tricky away trips against the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Crystal Palace to contend with.

Amorim only has a 38 win percentage at Man United, which is something he will have to drastically improve to have any chance of thriving in the period after the international break.
