Jamie Carragher has admitted on Monday Night Football, which was broadcast on Sky Sports, that he has changed his mind about Mohamed Salah.
Salah or Mane?
When asked previously Carragher said that he would take Sadio Mane over Salah, as he was his favourite Liverpool player.
However, in recent seasons Salah has continued to score with great regularity, while Mane has struggled more to find the back of the net.
At the weekend both Mane and Salah scored in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Leeds United.
But it was the £34 million Egyptian (BBC Sport) who was more clinical, with Mane guilty of missing a number of presentable opportunities.
Gary Neville then decided to give Carragher the chance to re-assess his opinion on the two wingers.
And after a period of deliberation, Carragher admitted that he had now had a change of heart over which Liverpool player he favours.
“What I meant by that is you have your favourite player,” Carragher began.
“Salah always scored more goals than Mane! But you have your favourite player…
“Alright, I’ve changed my mind. I’ll give you that!”

The goalscorer
Carragher could hardly be blamed for changing his mind.
Salah’s goals were a key reason why Liverpool made the Champions League last season, while Mane struggled to reach double figures.
Mane has hit two goals in his first four Premier League games this term, but he hasn’t been at his ruthless best and there are mow concerns over his long-term future in Liverpool’s line-up than there are Salah’s now.
Salah looks ready to continue at Anfield for years, if Liverpool can convince him to sign a new contract, but the Reds may need to think about adding competition for Mane sooner rather than later, unless he can find his top form once again.
