Kieran Wright posted on Instagram after signing a new contract with Rangers that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2020 – and Jamie Barjonas and Kilmarnock goalkeeper Liam Kelly reacted hilariously.
Wright, 19, has been a regular in Rangers’ reserve side, and is arguably the best of the rest in terms of goalkeeping options when it comes to Rangers’ youngsters.
The Gers do have plenty of options between the sticks, in Allan McGregor, Wes Foderingham and January signing Andy Firth. Jak Alwnick is also set to return from his loan at Scunthorpe United, but he could be sold.
The club also boast Aidan McAdams, Brian Kinnear and Robby McCrorie. But Steven Gerrard has placed his faith in Wright by handing him another 12 months, and Wright reacted in delight on Instagram.
Rangers midfielder Barjonas and ex-Rangers stopper Kelly reacted on Instagram, with Kelly hilariously teasing Wright about his contract photo and Barjonas mentioning his tan.

TBR’s view
Giving Wright another 12 months on his current deal gives Gerrard the chance to look at him in more detail. There is no doubt the goalkeeper has talent, given that he has seven Scotland Under-19 caps.
What will kill Wright’s chances of first-team football is the amount of goalkeepers ahead of him in the pecking order. He needs to go out on loan to a Scottish Championship or League One side, and prove his worth.
An impressive spell at Raith Rovers during the second half of last season saw him clock up three clean sheets in nine games, conceding only 13 goals. Building on that is the best way to showcase his talent to Gerrard.
