Liverpool midfielder James Milner has taken to Twitter with a message for the Reds fanbase in the aftermath of the Anfield side’s FA Cup exit.

Jurgen Klopp’s charges have been nigh on unstoppable for most of the season but, on Tuesday night, were left reeling from a second consecutive defeat in all competitions.

Liverpool headed to Stamford Bridge to lock horns with Chelsea, Klopp making seven changes to the starting XI from the 3-0 hammering away at Watford last weekend.

The Reds fell a goal behind in the 13th minute of the fifth-round tie when goalkeeper Adrian failed to deal with Willian’s 20-yard effort, fumbling the ball into the net.

Although Liverpool battled valiantly and tested Chelsea stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga on several occasions, Chelsea added a second through Ross Barkley just after the hour mark.

Milner, who came on in place of Curtis Jones in the 70th minute, outlined the need for Liverpool to react well to the defeats and bounce back, also thanking the travelling Reds support.

Several Liverpool fans responded:

Up next for Liverpool is Saturday’s early Premier League kickoff against Bournemouth at Anfield.
